Windows 8 is here, and if you're used to previous versions of Windows then you're going to notice that quite a bit has changed.

In fact, Windows has seen the biggest changes since the jump from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95.
Out goes the Start menu, in comes the new Start screen, new apps, new interface conventions - even experienced Computer Users may be left feeling a little lost.

Don't despair help is at hand with the following Windows 8 ‘Basic Tutorial’ to be held in the computer room on next Wednesday 22nd May at 9.00am.

And who says retirement is boring!! As someone said this week, do not retire, life gets too busy. The Tranquil Tones' theme for their recent concert was "colour" and the pictures below speak for themselves.

Lil,our gardening guru, resplendent in her "yellow polka dot bikini"

Phil, entertainment guru, as the " one eyed, one horned purple flying people eater!!

Does anyone know who this ol' rocker is??

Biggest Morning Tea - What A Success!

Posted in 'Resident Events, Village Events' on May 14, 2013
What a great success!! The Biggest Morning Tea organised by resident Pamela was a credit to her and her band of helpers. A fashion parade, compliments of W Lane, was very popular. There were raffles, a trade table and entrance fee that included morning tea all raised a total of $ 2,2217. Well done to all. As the photos show there was a sea of pink and even the men played their part. Peter Dowling and Lance Hewlett also attended and donated prizes.

Independent Retirement Living at Tranquil Waters

Posted in 'Sales' on May 1, 2013
For people nearing retirement, a retirement village such as Tranquil Waters is worth considering. A familiar home can be very difficult to maintain and impractical for an older person living alone. Smaller apartments might be easier to manage, but many lack the amenities and services available in a quality retirement facility. While retirement homes may seem like a feasible option, some of them can be expensive and many dont come close to providing the quality of life that Tranquil Waters offers.

Tranquil Waters is ideally suited to independent retirement living. It offers those in retirement the opportunity to live a life that is as close as they can get to living at home, with the added advantage of quality care and attention available by care providers.  For the family of the resident, Tranquil Waters offers a totally safe and secure living environment in which the needs of their beloved family members are addressed.

At Tranquil Waters, independent senior living means never having to worry about maintaining the surroundings or performing risky or difficult chores. From a resident's experience there are a variety of reasons to consider a move to a retirement village from downsizing, garden and maintenance issues, health concerns and freeing up time to travel. Retirees also have the benefit of companionship from other seniors and there are plenty of opportunities for socializing and enjoying each others company.

For older people for whom loneliness and depression are constant worries, the active and vibrant social life offered by Tranquil Waters is a definite benefit.

Without the stress and worry of mowing the lawn, gardens or external maintenance, the later years can be the best time in a seniors life.

Independent retirement living at Tranquil Waters means just that: a safe and secure living environment in which senor citizens can live independently.  With world-class facilities, 24 hour medical alert and knowledge that care services are available if and when required from care providers, Tranquil Waters makes retirement something to look forward to.

Tranquil Tones

Posted in 'Resident Events, Village Events' on April 2, 2013
Don't miss the Tranquil Tones first performance for 2013 on Sunday, 28 April. After such a damp and dreary February, residents will enjoy a program of popular songs on the theme of: COLOUR WHEEL

In keeping with this "Colour Wheel” theme, residents are invited to wear purple to add to the colour of the program.

Several new members have joined the tones, we now number 44 but more blokes are needed.

There will be some unusual items in this Tones performance - but it is still rated "G".
