Leading Age Services Australia - Queensland (LASA Q) is part of the new national body which represents all service providers (not-for-profit, community, state or commercially based) and is essential to enable the sector to shape the agenda for aged services and housing for older Australians.

Aged Care providers in our area


Support services and community care programs are easily accessible to residents of Tranquil Waters, so residents can continue to stay in their own homes safely and securely for as long as possible. This is called ‘community care’.

The Home and Community Care Program (HACC) and Community Aged Care Packages (CACP) are two such programs, with services specifically designed for older Australians who would qualify for at least low level care in an aged care home. CACP provides a package of services whereas HACC may provide one or more services. Aged Care Australia is a website from the Federal Government that is a good first step for further information.

Supporting Community Care, there are a number of aged care facilities in Victoria Point and in the Redlands.

Finlandia
Has three divisions that provide a range of support services and care options for older people both from the Australian Finnish and Scandinavian communities and the wider Australian community. Located at Thornlands.

Churches of Christ Queensland
Provider of care and support services that assist families, the elderly and people in need. Provides many community care packages to support independent living.

Anglican Care
Provider of care progressive quality provider of aged care services and support services.

Uniting Care
Network of UnitingCare community services to older Australians, children, young people and families.

Blue Care
Provider of health care as part of UnitingCare Queensland, a network of Uniting Church agencies dedicated to assisting individuals, families and communities.

Rosevale Court
A fully Government accredited Aged Care Facility, catering for both high and low care, located in Victoria Point with a facility of 136 beds. Staff consists of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Assistant Nurses, Physiotherapists and Diversional Therapists, to cater for a wide and varied range of health needs.

Redland District Committee on the Ageing
Redland District Committee on the Ageing (RDCOTA) is an incorporated not-for-profit organisation working towards the wellbeing of all citizens over the age of 50 years. RDCOTA has a high profile and credible reputation locally with a strong track record of achieveing its aims.

Association of Independent Retirees
The Association of Independent Retirees (AIR) is a non-political advocacy group representing self-funded and partially self-funded retirees.

Australian Seniors Computer Clubs Association
The Australian Seniors Computer Clubs Association (ASCCA) is the national peak body for seniors and technology. The website is particularly for seniors who are interested in using a computer and has information about seniors computer clubs around Australia.

Council on the Ageing
Council on the Ageing (COTA) protects and promotes the well-being of older people. It is an independent consumer organization run by and for older Australians.

National Seniors
National Seniors is a not-for-profit membership based community organisation, which provides economic and social benefits for persons aged 50 and over and represents its members views to government at all levels.

Centrelink is an Australian Government Statutory Agency, assisting people to become self-sufficient and supporting those in need.

Centrelink - Home Page
The Individuals section will be of most relevance to seniors and carers, particularly the Illness or Disability; Caring; Help after a Death; and Retirement sub-sections. Particular topics of interest may include: Age Pension and Concession and Health Care Cards.

Financial Information Service
Centrelink's Financial Information Service (FIS) is a free and independent service available to anyone. You don't have to be getting a payment from Centrelink to use it.

Services for Veterans
Centrelink provides a Veteran Information Service and a Community Support Service in selected Centrelink Customers Service Centres to help veterans. These services are delivered on behalf of the Department of Veteran' Affairs.
